Our Story
Friends and fellow authors & entrepreneurs, Emra Smith and Rebekah McLeod, mutually felt a gap in the publishing industry, leaving women vulnerable to the lie that their stories don’t matter.
To fill this gap, Marigold Press was born. Together with a team of like-minded women, Emra and Rebekah created a space for women’s voices to be heard and their stories to be told. It is our belief that our collective stories serve as a rallying call for all women to not merely survive, but to thrive during difficult times.
Emra Smith is an international speaker, author, and Hope Warrior, bringing hope and healing to the brokenhearted, stressed, and weary. She opens doors for healing through coaching and teaching emotional, mental, physical health and wellness, one story at a time. As CEO and founder of The International School of Story, Emra helps others unpack their stories for clarity, healing, and direction. This process works wherever she serves, in corporations, city governments, universities, churches, business arenas, with both entrepreneurs and individuals.
Rebekah McLeod is a freelance writer, musician, and storyteller. She spent seven years as an independent singer/songwriter, releasing two albums and touring regionally in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. After blogging for three years, Rebekah published a book, The Secret Life of a Doctor’s Wife, in 2016. She is currently a ghostwriter, contributing writer for With You in Mind Publications, and a podcast host at Lady BizWiz. Her new children’s book, The Hungry Sun, released in December 2022.
